our ranks are filled with all types of people: military and history buffs, collectors, business men, real estate agents, law enforcement officers, and about everyone else in between.

if you are interested in joining the pnwhg follow the steps below. we hope that we have sparked your interest in history and that you can appreciate the integrity of what we are trying to accomplish.

1. visit the websites of the different units that are currently in the pnwhg. members collect their individual equipment but for the purpose of reenacting their equipment much match the type and history of the unit they are going to belong to. each unit governs the nuances of how they will operate so if one unit doesn't feel like a good fit, maybe another will.
2. contact the unit commander (usually the highest ranking officer for that unit). this person has generally been with the club a long period of time and is an extremely valuable in getting off on the right foot. generally they will assist in: ensuring that any equipment you purchase is correct and usable, finding you gear to borrow for your first event, notifying you of the upcoming event dates, filling you in on blank ammunition and other costs, and generally helping to see that your first event is smooth and fun. most units operate an email list that you may be placed (voluntarily) onto.
3. purchase equipment. although sometimes it is possible that you can be lent all of the equipment necessary for your first event, often it is necessary to purchase basic items such as boots, pants, and shirts beforehand. for more information on where to purchase this equipment talk to the unit commander or visit our questions and answers section. although the cost of these items are steep, most of the better quality reproductions and (nearly all) originals can be resold at a without a major loss if for some reason you decide not to continue.

reenacting is a strenuous activity that takes place outside using authentic tactics over the course of a weekend. the nature of the activity requires that you be in decent physical condition. (for more information see the questions and answers section). in accordance with enlistment requirements of the time (and our current liability insurance folks) you must be 16 or older to join.
